This can often be a confusing issue because you might qualify for more then one incentive. For example, in our home state of Colorado, the utility XCEL Energy offers its customers a rebate of 50% of the cost of their grid inter-tied system. However, most people don't realize that XCEL offers incentives to people who aren't their customers as well.
