Support the American Worker, Support a National RES

We have heard your call for a more stable policy platform for wind energy growth.  Now it’s time for you to communicate to Washington and the world that you support a strong national renewable electricity standard (RES) to enable renewable energy sources to provide a steadily growing amount of the nation’s electricity.

To raise the visibility of this issue, AWEA has created a commercial that will run during news programs in the Washington, DC area throughout June and July.  It focuses on the theme “Support the American Worker, Support a National Renewable Electricity Standard.”  We have also created webisodes to complement this commercial – they provide first hand insights on the meaning of wind industry jobs to Americans who have been laid off in a down economy and are excited about new careers. 

As the RES provision moves through Congress, the strength of the standard is unfortunately being watered down.  This battle is likely to continue through the summer, so please join us in spreading the word about the need for a strong RES – calling for 25% of our electricity to come from renewable resources by 2025.
